Tasemere Gathers 

Urban Planner turned Business Visionary and Strategist

Tasemere G. has spent her professional career working in community revitalization and community development throughout New York City. Currently Tasemere G. is the founder of the DM Firm, a certified MWBE business. Her firm provides economic development support for micro and small businesses, business improvement districts, nonprofits, and foundations. Tasemere’s expertise is strategically connecting existing support providers, and cross-sector stakeholders to innovate and maximize impact in the community or neighborhood that is being served. Tasemere G. holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from SUNY Oswego, a Masters in Urban Studies from Long Island University, Marketing Certification from the General Assembly, and is a Coro Neighborhood Leadership Alumni.  Additionally, Tasemere serves as a Board Member for Smalltimore Homes headquartered in Baltimore and Deep Impact headquartered in NYC.

Milestones

2016

The foundation for the DM Firm was established.

2017

The DM Firm launched.

2018

The DM Firm created pitch decks that directly resulted in interviews and contracts with other brands.

2019

The DM Firm successfully increase a brick and mater business profits and launched additional revenue streams for clients.

2020

Launched two workshop series specifically for micro-entrepreneurs. 

2021

Launched the Brunch Pitch.

2023

New NE + portion of the Midwest Regional Representative for the 1MC program powered by the Kauffman Foundation.

2024

Launched second headquarters in the DMV.

Achievements 

Produced the first pitch competition focused on Black-entrepreneurship in Times Square in celebration of Juneteenth

Serves a thought leader with an organization in South Asia focused on developing social and creative entrepreneurship for women, children and indigenous people.

Serves as a founding practitioner of Equitable Entrepreneurship.

Serves as a leader in Inclusive and Equitable entrepreneurship.
